Average Bloke diagnosed with Type II Diabetes

Managing Type 2 Diabetes

This blog has been created to help document my journey coming to terms with my Type 2 Diabetes diagnosis. My journey to research more about Diabetes, as well as steps I have taken to manage my condition and ultimately lose weight. The aim being to help you in managing type 2 Diabetes.

The aim being to help other people manage their Diabetes, focused initially on Type 2 then I will add experiences of other people impacted with others.

I hope to one day “reverse” the diagnosis and move into remission (no medication just diet to manage blood glucose levels) to take control back and live a healthy life style, or at least healthier than what I was doing prior.

I am not a health nut and this is an honest approach what worked for me my journey, the highs and the lows.

When diagnosed I wasn’t sure where to start, I did you web search and was bombarded with various sites telling me lots of information a lot of which was medical. All very good information but not as east to digest as I would have liked.

This blog is the result of what worked for me and in time other people, no more no less.

My initial source of research was Diabetes UK, they have a great site with a lot of information including a community in which you can post and request feedback. Please also consider bookmarking this site too.

Comic Con Oct 2019 before lockdown no excuses.

I always struggled with my weight, various diets, hitting the gym my weight fluctuating.

I was high risk of Covid and didn’t leave home, fell into worse eating habits.

Two year journey still going strong; 150kgs down to 97kgs

No secret methods, hard work and perseverance but if I can do it you can too!

I found some great hacks along the way that meant the new “diet” was much more palpable.
